AS/RS (Automated Storage and Retrieval Vehicle) System Emulation

The system developer uses the warehouse status view to change warehouse status and force exceptions. The system developer selects the AS/RS machine, aisle, side, and/or level. In multiple-level implementations, the display depicts bins inaccessible due to near-aisle occupancy.

Other interfaces, not shown here, give the system developer the opportunity to observe detailed internal workings of each AS/RS machine. For example, an interface supports commands normally initiated by the warehouse management system, without that system being present.

In this particular emulation, the developer can modify the wall clock rate so that time can be shortened or lengthened. Using this capability, in conjunction with other Emulogix emulators supporting such time distortion, it is possible to test all possible AS/RS behaviors within a few minutes. To do so on site would take a number of weeks.
