In this case study, the PLCs controlling newsprint material handling equipment communicated events to the Roll-to-Press Management System (RTPMS) using a messaging interface.
In this application, the Emulogix emulator communicated with the RTPMS by replicating messages in the order they would usually occur, rather than emulating the discrete signals into the various PLCs.
In conjunction with other emulators connected to the RTPMS, the developers could test the RTPMS without impacting production. |
